Her Majesty’s agents have asked the Leftenant to call a muster for Company and friends.
Join us for a low-pressure private weekend of 16th-century diversions: piking, archery, shot, fencing, cavalry, cooking, gambling and other diverse amusements during the day…and our own brand of revelry in the evening. It is sure to be a memorable time. Please RSVP either on Facebook or via the contact form below. Yes, we would like you to wear historical clothing…and no, we won’t hassle you about its quality.

Horses are welcome!  Please see Equestrian section below for details on bringing your horse.

Cost: $15

Meals: Breakfast Sat & Sun as well as dinner on Saturday will be provided.

Archers: There are some period targets on site ready for your arrows. Or if you have your own targets, bring them.

Musicians: Bring your historical instruments and practice with other like-minded folks. Do you have a new piece you’ve discovered and want to try out? Who knows, you may even get some dancers.

Equestrians: We have access to 6 stalls. They will be available for $30 each, on a first come basis. Please RSVP to TBD to reserve a stall for your horse. There are two outdoor run outs as well. We have access to the outdoor arena. There is water on site for the horses and trailer parking. There is no additional haul-in fee for day trippers. Please have any horse vaccinations up to date before arriving. Also, there are trails to ride on the property for those so inclined. Please be aware that black powder shot (no ball but big bangs) will occur throughout the weekend. Griffinwood Stables waivers will need to be signed by all.

Open Fire Cooking: It appears that we can have supervised above ground fires in the back field or ground fire in the fire pit near the barn. Also looking for volunteers to help organize and participate in meal planning and menus that work around several people with dietary restrictions.

Shot: Black powder shooting is welcome but without the ball. If you’ve always wanted to fire an arquebus, or just want to make things go Bang! then this is your chance.

Other Activities: Do not feel limited by this list. There will be other things happening, and if you have an interest that plays well with our 16th-century camp theme, then by all means come share it with us. Suggestions are also welcome.

General Notes:

  • Please be respectful of driving on site. We have been asked to keep the driving slow. Please park in the designated parking area when you arrive. We hope to have nothing modern in the field by as soon as possible.
  • There will be a check in area Friday Night and Saturday Morning. Please check in, sign waivers, pay site fee, and get stall assignments there.
  • All lanterns or candles must be enclosed during the event. No open fire. All lanterns must be supervised. Local fire bans during the weekend will be observed if that should happen.
  • We are looking for volunteers to help set up on Friday afternoon/evening
